أصدرت السلطات الأمريكية، اليوم الأربعاء، أوامر بإخلاء آلاف السكان في ولاية أوهايو، بعد تسرب كيميائي من إحدى الحاويات في مقاطعة هاملتون.
وذكرت شبكة “إيه بي سي” الأمريكية أن التسرب جاء من غاز “الستايرين”، وهو غاز قابل للاشتعال، من إحدى عربات قطار شحن بالولاية، مما دفع السلطات إلى مطالبة السكان الذين يعيشون في نطاق ميل واحد تقريباً من موقع الحادث بإخلاء منازلهم فوراً خوفاً من حدوث انفجار.
وأوضحت السلطات أنها تواصل مراقبة جودة الهواء وقياس نسبة الغاز، وأشارت إلى أنه تم فصل العربة المتسربة عن بقية قطار الشحن الذي كان يحمل المادة الكيميائية.
