وأوضح الدكتور حسام عبدالغفار، المتحدث الرسمي لوزارة الصحة، أنه تم تفعيل المولد الكهربائي الاحتياطي فورًا داخل مستشفى أم المصريين لتوفير الطاقة اللازمة لتشغيل الأقسام الحيوية، مشيرًا إلى أنه تم نقل حالات الرعاية المركزة والأطفال بالحضّانات بالتنسيق مع قطاع الطب العلاجي إلى عدد من المستشفيات القريبة.
وأكد عبدالغفار أن النقل تم بشكل آمن إلى مستشفيات إمبابة العام، وأمّ الأطباء، والمنيرة العام، والحوامدية المركزي، والبدرشين المركزي، وذلك تحت إشراف فرق طبية وتمريضية مؤهلة، حيث جرت عملية نقل المرضى من مستشفى أم المصريين دون حدوث أي مضاعفات صحية.
وأشار الدكتور إلى أن فرق الصيانة الفنية تباشر حاليًا أعمال إصلاح العطل داخل مستشفى أم المصريين، متوقعًا عودة التيار الكهربائي بالكامل خلال الساعات المقبلة، مشددًا على استمرار المتابعة لضمان استقرار الوضع بالمستشفى وعودة الخدمة بشكل طبيعي.
