أعلن الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم تقدم رئيسه المهندس هاني أبو ريدة بطلب رسمي إلى الاتحاد الأفريقي لكرة القدم «كاف»، يتضمن زيادة عدد الأندية المشاركة في بطولتي دوري أبطال أفريقيا وكأس الكونفدرالية، لمنح بعض الاتحادات مقعدًا إضافيًا في كل بطولة.
هل يعود الأهلي إلى دوري الأبطال؟
وأوضح الاتحاد، في بيان رسمي، أن الطلب جاء في ضوء النتائج المميزة التي حققتها المنتخبات الأفريقية في بطولة كأس العالم 2026، مقترحًا منح كل اتحاد عضو مقعدًا إضافيًا، على أن يتم توزيع هذه المقاعد وفقًا لمعايير التصنيف واللوائح المعتمدة داخل «كاف».
وبحسب المقترح، قد ترتفع حصة بعض الاتحادات إلى ثلاثة أندية في دوري أبطال أفريقيا وثلاثة أخرى في كأس الكونفدرالية، مع مشاركة الأندية الإضافية بداية من الأدوار التمهيدية.
وفي حال اعتماد المقترح، سيصبح النادي الأهلي مرشحًا للمشاركة في النسخة المقبلة من دوري أبطال أفريقيا، بعدما أنهى الموسم الماضي في المركز الثالث بالدوري المصري، وغاب عن التأهل المباشر للمسابقة.
