واستكمالاً لهذه الجهود، تم التشغيل التجريبي لخط سكة حديد الفردان – بئر العبد بطول 100 كم، حيث استقبل أهالي سيناء وطلاب المدارس القطار بالأعلام والهتافات، معبرين عن فرحتهم الكبيرة بهذا المشروع، وأكد الفريق كامل الوزير، نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء للتنمية الصناعية ووزير الصناعة والنقل، أن هذا الخط يعد هدية من الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي لأهالي سيناء، ويشكل إضافة قوية لوسائل النقل في المنطقة، مع وعود بتقديم خدمات مميزة وسريعة للركاب.
وأعرب أهالي سيناء عن فخرهم بهذا اليوم التاريخي، موجهين الشكر للرئيس السيسي على انطلاق مشروعات التنمية في سيناء، والتي طال انتظارها وأصبحت واقعًا ملموسًا في عهده، وأكدوا أن هذه الجهود تعكس شغف الجميع لتحقيق التنمية الشاملة.
تعد السكك الحديدية عنصرًا مهمًا في تعزيز التنمية العمرانية، حيث تسهل حركة المواطنين والبضائع، وتساهم في تقليل تكاليف النقل التقليدي وزيادة الأمان، إلى جانب ذلك، توفر السكك الحديدية تجربة سفر ممتعة وسط المناظر الطبيعية الخلابة التي تتميز بها سيناء.
وفي إطار اهتمام الدولة بتطوير خطوط السكك الحديدية، يتم العمل على إنشاء خط سكة حديد يمتد من الفردان إلى طابا بطول 500 كم، مما يشكل جزءًا من الممر اللوجيستي العريش – طابا، ويعتبر مكونًا أساسيًا في دعم النهضة الصناعية عبر تسريع نقل المواد الأولية والمدخلات، وتسهيل حركة البضائع والمساعدات في حالات الطوارئ.
وفي لفتة كريمة، قرر الرئيس السيسي تشغيل القطارات مجانًا للركاب من 12 أكتوبر حتى 18 أكتوبر، تعبيرًا عن التقدير لأهالي سيناء الأبطال الذين أسهموا في النصر والتضحيات من أجل الوطن.
توجيهات الرئيس السيسي جاءت واضحة لتحقيق كافة مطالب أهالي سيناء وتنفيذ المشروعات التي تخدم المواطنين هناك، مؤكدًا أن التنمية تعد ركيزة أساسية للأمن القومي المصري.
