في هذا العام، ارتفع عدد الوفيات لأسباب غير متوقعة إلى 1380 حالة، حيث دخل نحو 400 ألف شخص بدون تصريح رسمي إلى المملكة العربية السعودية، مما أدى إلى تحديات كبيرة في إدارة الخدمات الصحية والأمنية، واستجابت الحكومة بسرعة لهذا التحدي الطارئ، إلا أنها وجدت صعوبات في تقديم الرعاية للأعداد الهائلة خلال فترة قصيرة.
الحكومة أجبرت عددًا من الشركات المسؤولة في مصر على سحب تراخيصها بسبب تسهيلات غير مشروعة في أداء مناسك الحج، وتم اتخاذ إجراءات قانونية صارمة في دول أخرى مثل تونس والأردن، لمعالجة الفساد والمخالفات في مجال الحج وتأمين سلامة الحجاج.
السعودية تتحمل مسؤولية كبيرة في إدارة الحج وتوفير الخدمات بأقصى درجات الأمان والراحة، مع استخدام تكنولوجيا متطورة لتحقيق ذلك. يتعين على الدول المشاركة في الحج التعاون مع السعودية والالتزام بالقوانين والأنظمة لضمان أداء النسك بأمان وكرامة لكل حاج.
